Really?

Yesterday when I heard Caleb say, "Look Mom, a hat!" I wasn't expecting to turn around and find this:

And why wasn't I watching my son more closely to prevent such a mishap, you might ask? Well, it just so happened that I was busy scrubbing my "shelves that serve as a counter" that Caleb had scribbled permanent marker on. This picture is after 10 min. of scrubbing:

And why wasn't I aware that my son had climbed up on the "counter" and found the permanent marker to color with? Well, I was outside digging post holes for my rabbit fence around the garden:

And why was I putting a fence around my garden? The rabbits keep eating my beans, and my husband has not taken me seriously when, for the past 2 years I've asked him to buy me a BB gun. That's all I ask. Not a .22, not a shotgun, just a little old BB gun. I've taken hunter's safety; heck, I outshot every one in my class with "the closest cluster" my instructor had seen in a long time. But has my husband taken me seriously? Noooooooo. (Although maybe he takes me too seriously and is worried I'll get turned in by our nosy neighbors). But just think, Honey, what could have been avoided if I'd had my gun....

Singing Sarah

Sarah asked me to sing a song to her this morning, and I came up with the Birthday song. I think Elmo also had a Birthday-themed episode this week. Anyway, I hope her cute singing will distract you from "the ultimate mess" in their bedroom. Who is their mom anyway?

Disclaimer for this Blog

I have continued to put off this blog for... what has it been now, over a year? Mostly because I'm not creative, I'm not cutesy, and I don't want to spend a lot of time on it. But the more I see other blogs and realize the importance of sharing things with friends and family, especially when we're so far away, those things seem insignificant. That said, I'm still not going to be cutesy or creative on this blog, nor will I be a real consistent or frequent blogger. But I think it's a good way to document the happenings of our little family - even when these things might seem insignificant to others. So there you go. I had to get that out before I really did anything here. So people, what you see is what you get! :)
